Podcast With City Council Candidate Christian Clinton

The Boulder City Podcast and Boulder City Social have joined forces to present a series of podcasts with candidates for the City Council of Boulder City. In light of the lack of public forums during the pandemic, we hope that these podcasts will help voters meet the candidates, understand their views and opinions, and guide their votes in the upcoming election on April 6. If no one achieves 50 percent of the vote on April 6, the top four vote getters will be involved in a runoff in June.

A two-year resident of Boulder City, Christian Clinton pledges to work tirelessly to to preserve the community and help it recover from the pandemic. The general manager of the restaurant in the Art Houz in Las Vegas, Clinton has had a long career in food-and-beverage and believes the organization necessary in that field will translate well to city government. He says he wants to work towards preserving the past for the future but working with the community to implement ways that keep Boulder City moving forward.

Zack Cummings may be the youngest candidate for City Council in Boulder City in 2021. He moved to the city as a child in 2007 and went through the city’s school system, graduating from Boulder City High School. He’s familiar with the town’s benefits, backs the slow growth ordinance, supports the police and is passionate about legalizing the use of off-highway vehicles (OHVs)  on the Boulder City streets, believing that it would increase tourism in the city. Podcast With Incumbent Council Member Judith Hoskins

The Boulder City Podcast and Boulder City Social have joined forces to present a series of podcasts with candidates for the City Council of Boulder City. In light of the lack of public forums during the pandemic, we hope that these podcasts will help voters meet the candidates, understand their views and opinions, and guide their votes in the upcoming election on April 6. Today’s podcast is with the only incumbent in the race, Judith Hoskins. She was appointed to the position in November 2019, filling the seat vacated when Kiernan McManus was elected mayor. Hoskins has been in Boulder City since 2001 and has been active in the community for all those years, serving as the president of her homeowners association for 16 years. She retired from the Defense Department after 30 years in the federal government. She has pledged accessibility during her term as a member of the city council and during her campaign. This week, Boulder City resident Tanya Vece takes the mike. Vece is a medical professional who has volunteered with the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce for various events and received the Goldie Begley Energizer Award presented by the Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she served on the board of the Boulder City Museum and Historical Association and was a volunteer turned paid consultant for the Dam Short Film Festival. This week, Boulder City resident Greg Deaver. After moving to Boulder City more than three years ago to enjoy the small town atmosphere, Deaver says he was disturbed by plans of the previous council to encourage more development. He fully supports the slow growth ordinance and wants to see the city council to work together for the betterment of the city.

This week, Boulder City resident Charles Bullen sits down for a chat about his candidacy for the City Council of Boulder City. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Bullen moved to Boulder City in 2008 and is now a supervisor at Hoover Dam. He wants the city to do more to support small businesses and develop a master plan as a path to the future.

This week, longtime Boulder City resident Cokie Booth is interviewed by BC Podcast Publisher Roger Gros. Booth is the owner of BC Real Estate and has been a resident of the city for over 30 years.
