Podcast with Pattie Avalos-Ruiz, Laura Ragan and Lacey Powers

This week we feature a special edition of the BC Podcast, a fascinating story about three local women who recently completed the Camino de Santiago, or the Way of St. James, a 1000-mile pilgrimage across France and into Spain tracing the route that many have taken for almost 2,000 years. Pattie Avalos-Ruiz and Laura Ragan, both parishioners at St. Andrews Catholic Church and a friend Lacey Powers, who currently lives in Oregon, began their trek in late March in France, the least-utilized part of the trail, crossed the Pyrenees into Spain finally winding up at the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain.

They explain about the adventure, the preparation, the hospitality of both French and Spanish households along the way and their favorite memories of the trip. The three will gather at St. Andrews church on August 27 at 10:00 a.m. to show photos and reflect on their journey.
