Today we continue our series of interviews with the candidates for elected office in Boulder City for the primary election in early June. The positions being contested are 1) the Justice of the Peace, replacing Judge Victor Miller, who is not running for re-election, and 2) two positions on City Council. Today, we sit down with a candidate for City Council, Denise Ashurst. Denise moved to Boulder City after careers in the U.S. Air Force, the Department of Energy, and National Nuclear Security Administration at the Nevada Test Site. She ran for state Senate two years ago and lost by just a handful of votes. Denise has given back to the community through herĀ involvement in many local organizations. She spoke with BC Podcast host Roger Gros at her campaign office in Boulder City in April.
