In this episode, we sit down with Mayor Joe Hardy, who is now serving his third year as mayor, after serving for more than two decades as state senator and assemblyman representing Boulder City. His tenure as mayor has been relatively quiet, with a city council that may not always agree but are civil to one another. Hardy says his time as mayor has been rewarding and points to improvements in the city’s utility systems, its financial position and its reasonable growth program. He also addresses the need to add more students to the city’s schools in order to retain the funding level from Clark County that the city currently receives, as well as discussing the now underway Railroad Museum and what that will mean for Boulder City. He spoke with BC Podcast host Roger Gros in the City Council chambers in City Hall in February.
