Boulder City Podcast Special Election Edition: Mayor Joe Hardy

The first of our special election podcasts starting with Boulder City Mayor Joe Hardy who is effectively running unopposed.

The terms of two council members and the mayor expire with the advent of 2027—Steve Walton, Cokie Booth and Mayor Joe Hardy. All three have decided to see re-election. As with the last several election cycles, the Boulder City Podcast will do episodes with all the candidates, the incumbents and the challengers. Since there are only a few challengers, a June primary election is unnecessary in Boulder City, and the election will take place on November 3, 2026. And Mayor Hardy has only one challenger, the persistent candidate, Brent Foulke who never responds to the media requests for interviews, we’re going to start this year’s election series with the sitting mayor. Hardy was elected mayor in 2022 after serving in the state Senate for 12 years and the Assembly for six years. He was also a councilman in Boulder City from 1999-2002. Hardy is the associate dean of clinical education for the Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He spoke with Boulder City Podcast host Roger Gros in the city council chambers in City Hall in May. Look for Boulder City Podcasts with all the candidates for City Council in October 2026. Special thanks to our videographer Billy Walker for assisting us with this edition.
